Most people are aware of the negative effects of scrolling through your phone and the inability to stop, but your brain is particularly vulnerable early in the morning. Instead of searching social media as soon as you wake and letting it drain you first thing, start your day with another routine and check social media later.

Look for a Healthier Outlet

If you need something to jumpstart your day, consider opting for brisk exercise and an invigorating playlist of music. It gets your blood flowing and your heart pumping but this also gives you a chance to start your day off on a positive note accomplishing something as soon as you get up. While it can be challenging to get moving early in the morning, this is a natural and ideal way to wake you up. Consider shifting your workout routine or scheduling a brisk walk for your mornings to get you started off positively.
