“Father Time has caught up (with him),” Bisping added. “With the greatest of respect, Anderson Silva needs to retire. He’s already given so much to this sport. He doesn’t need to give anymore. Enjoy retirement.”
Michael Bisping, who recently retired himself, got well acquainted with Anderson Silva in early 2016. The pair engaged in one of the year’s best fights, pummelling each other for five, frenetic rounds in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in London, with the Brit ultimately winning by unanimous decision. He would later go on to capture the middleweight title himself, knocking out Luke Rockhold inside a round.
With his loss to Jared Cannonier, Anderson Silva is now a tough 1-6 (1 NC) in his last eight fights. Do you think the time has come for the Brazilian MMA legend to hang up the gloves? Join the debate in the comments section down below.
