Darren Till wants to mentally break Jorge Masvidal

Darren Till will look to dominate Jorge Masvidal physically and mentally at UFC London.

Welterweight contender Darren Till will have his hands full when he meets seasoned veteran of the sport Jorge Masvidal in a five-round main event at UFC London.

Fresh off a title run that ended when Till was finished via submission by then-champion Tyron Woodley, the 26-year-old feels ready to begin a new campaign and wishes to make an example out of his first opponent.

In an interview with Bloody Elbow, Till emphasized how he wants to physically and mentally dominate Masvidal from bell to bell and put the Woodley loss behind him, claiming to now be a different fighter than the one who stepped in the cage last September.

“(A five-round fight) gives me more time to play with him and break him mentally,” Till said. That’s what I do to my opponents, I break them, I take their soul and show them they should not be in that cage with me.”

“Every fight is a different fight,” Till added. “I am not the same, he is not the same. He can study my style, my fights, does not matter, it will not change the outcome of the fight. I will finish him.”

Fighting in London, of course, gives Till a home advantage he admits to enjoy, but at the end of the day, Darren does not think it should change the outcome of the match in any way.

“I like to fight at home,” he said. “Having your friends and family around creates a different atmosphere. But at the end of the day I am mentally strong and doesnt matter where I fight, it does not affect my performance.”

UFC London airs live on ESPN+ with a main card start time of 4 PM ET/1 PM PT.
