Mayweather Responds To McGregor: ‘Everybody Wants A Rematch With Me’

Conor McGregor, despite riding the sidelines due to suspension, drew attention from most of his rivals this past week.

Not only did Nate Diaz take a shot at McGregor for the Irishman’s recount of their UFC 196 showdown, but Donald Cerrone blasted “Notorious” for not accepting a potential co-main event bout, Paulie Malignaggi challenged McGregor to a grudge match after signing with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), and now Floyd Mayweather Jr. is throwing his hat into the mix.

McGregor, who had his professional boxing debut spoiled by a Mayweather TKO back in 2017, posted the following message to Twitter earlier this week hinting at a potential rematch with the undefeated pugilist:

“I spoiled it with the rush right hook here,” wrote McGregor. “The angle was made. He was in the dirt. I just had to set correctly into my feet and fire. Rushing the right hook I lost balance on my back hand. Great boxing fight! A rematch will be interesting no doubt.”

Never one to bite his tongue, Mayweather responded to McGregor in a recent interview with TMZ Sports (shown above).

“Everybody wants a rematch with me. “Don’t worry about that,” said Floyd while flaunting his expensive watch.

Mayweather, who used his win over McGregor to push his undefeated boxing record to an astounding 50-0, also didn’t sound to keen on a rematch with boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah ... everybody’s saying something,” said Mayweather. “I don’t worry about that. I already made over a billion! You already know that!”

“I’m not worried about all that my man. Floyd is undefeated. Nobody can beat me. You already know that, man!”

While Mayweather was briefly linked to a crossover into the Octagon, the 42-year-old retired combat star currently has no plans of returning to fighting. But fight fans know from past experience that Mayweather can easily be brought out of hiding once the money hits the table.
