Conley Hospitalized, Out of LFA in Des Moines Feb 1
“Big Phil Conley” (0-0) at 6’5” 260lb has been forced to withdrawl from his Pro MMA debut vs Bryon Stevens (2-0) scheduled to take place at Seven Flags Event Center in Clive, Iowa (Des Moines area). Conley posted on his social media that he has been diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, that is more painful than any fight he’s ever been in, basically.
Conley made his name in Iowa at Bike Night Fight Night in mid summer of 2018. In a main event kickboxing bout vs undefeated #1 ranked Ametuer heavyweight MMA fighter Darion Abbey 6’6” 260 they both wowwed the hollering crowd the entirety of the contest. Conley winning by decision. Last month the 2 rematched in The Fight Series main event Title bout, this time with Conley ending the bout in the 3rd round TKO (scheduled for 5 rounds) by Abbey taking a seat against the cage, several times during the bout, making the Conley the new The Fight Series Heavyweight Champion.
Conley Rewind: In June 2018 Conley came down with a intestinal problem that forced him to withdrawl from AFC vs Mark Trullinger. Then after Abbey vs Conley part1, Conley had tore a lat muscle, not allowing him to compete or train at a high level for months. Post Abbey vs Conley part 2, now he has a serious lung condition, preventing him from training or competing yet again. Frustrating for Conley, I’m sure. FightBookMMA will speak with him later today, to get more detail.
