So, Who’s Up For Ortiz-Sonnen 2?
Why on earth would light heavyweight legend, Tito Ortiz, retire from mixed martial arts (MMA) for the seventeenth time when he can instead hang around until he’s 44 in order to rematch former Bellator MMA rival Chael Sonnen?
So take this announcement and SHOVE IT.
“Chael Sonnen so you want me to kick your ass again?” Ortiz wrote on Twitter. “This time I’m not going to choke you out. I’m going to beat you down. Or are [you] just infatuated by the way I live?”
I guess Ortiz got tired of hearing all that “disaster” talk.
Sonnen succumbed to a “fake” choke when they went to war at Bellator 170 back in early 2017. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” was expected to ride off into the sunset; however, the allure of fighting Chuck Liddell was too much to resist.
The gamble paid off and Ortiz melted “The Iceman” just last month (video).
No telling if Oscar de la Hoya and Golden Boy MMA would be interested in another pay-per-view (PPV) go-round, but judging by how many fans paid for his first attempt, it’s unlikely we’ll see Ortiz vs. Sonnen II (or anything else).
As it turns out, even Scott Coker has standards.
