Respect! Lobov Refunds Johnson’s Weight-Cutting Fine

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight slugger, Artem Lobov, may never be 145-pound champion. Heck, he may not even be a UFC athlete if he continues to lose fights. But there is one thing the “Russian Hammer” will always be, and that’s a man of his word.

Just ask Michael Johnson.

“The Menace” missed weight ahead of UFC Fight Night 138 last month in Moncton, but Lobov refused to accept the 20-percent of his opponent’s purse because Johnson agreed to the fight on super short notice when Zubaira Tukhugov was benched for misconduct.

Lobov was required to accept the fine but vowed to return it after the event. Judging by Johnson’s most recent tweet, which came not long after questioning if the SBG Ireland product would be “a man of his word,” the money has exchanged hands.

Have a look:

And the reply:

Johnson was able to slip by Lobov by way of unanimous decision after three rounds of back-and-forth action. “The Menace” improves to 19-13 with the win, while the “Russian Hammer” drops to 13-15-1 (1 NC) in defeat.
