Watch Shaq grapple Forrest Griffin at the UFC PI
The former NBA superstar made a stop by the UFC Performance Institute as part of his new ‘Big Chicken Shaq’ web-series. And while there he went a round with former champion Forrest Griffin.
Has the UFC found a new opponent for CM Punk?
Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has been a longtime fan of mixed martial arts, and the UFC. With that in mind, for part of his new web-series, “Big Chicken Shaq” – detailing his attempt to start his first restaurant (Big Chicken) in Las Vegas – O’Neal took a swing by the UFC Performance Institute to get a few rounds in.
Most notably, Shaq went one 5-minute grappling round with former UFC light heavyweight champion – and current Vice President of Athlete Development – Forrest Griffin. From the look of it, O’Neal did just fine in the cage, right up until he got jumped by strawweight top contender Claudia Gadelha.
No word yet if ‘Diesel’ is planning to parlay this experience into an MMA career. But if so, the UFC just might find some space for him on the roster.
